On behalf of Skyline Conservation Initiative / Na Koa Manu Conservation, mahalo nui loa for the amazing turn out today. Pohakuokala Gulch definitely had the best weather on the island today! The trees were planted with calculated excellence by about 50 people working fiercely among the mulch and logs.  On this winter solstice of 2019 we planted our hopes and dreams for a better future. May our great-great-great grandchildren truly benefit from our collective hard work today!!!

The total plants we installed = 200 palapalai ferns, 30 Koa trees, 175 a'ali'i, 75 ulei, 50 halapepe, 150 ohia, and 15 olapa.  This is a total of 695 plants!!!!  You are amazing and we appreciate your help!!!  We have a lot more trees to plant in early 2020 and we will keep you posted for future volunteer opportunities.

We just received confirmation that our restoration efforts today will featured on KITV news tonight at 10:00. You can tune into the TV or  KITV.com or via the mobile app. (To get the stream, go to: http://www.kitv.com/live-stream. On the KITV mobile app, find the drop down menu on the left side, and select Live Video.)

Mahalo for your support and welcome to the Skyline Conservation Ohana!

Aloha,

Joe
